An LTL is a shipment that does not require an entire truck to move.
Compared to FTL shipments, LTL shipments have a smaller size freight. The size is usually between 1 to 6 pallets and no more than 14 feet across. Because of the smaller size, trucks can carry multiple shipments in a single journey. A benefit of making an LTL shipment is cost-efficiency. Since clients use a portion of a trailer to move their freight, they only pay for that portion.
